The Great Gatsby is possibly my favorite piece of literature from this year. The excitement of Gatsby's lifestyle never left me bored for a second. He had everything he could want because of his wealth and notoriousness. Madame X, who is painted int he picture, seems like a typical party-goer that would be attending one of Gatsby's lavish soirées. Her seductive look and appearance gives her even more of a mystery, which is what Gatsby was to most... a giant mystery. I imagine her to be a person who stays at a party so early into the morning that she ends up falling asleep in the residence of Gatsby's mansion in West Egg, Long Island. Let the scandal continue with this beautiful work of art!

The passage explains how Nick Carraway first perceives Gatsby when he sees his mansion next to his much smaller summer dwelling. It proves even further that Gatsby was a mysterious man to most unless you knew who he truly was.

The video is a clip from a dance club in the early 1900's. The energy and thrill of the dancers is how I imagine one of Gatsby's infamous parties to have been like.
